Ah… Ten Forward. It’s such a comforting place. In the Star Trek universe it’s the social hub of the Federation’s Galaxy Class starships. Similar to Quark’s Bar on Deep Space Nine, Ten Forward is the spot where the crew goes to relax after a long duty shift. It’s a place to hang out with crewmates, eat and drink together, and play games like 3D chess and Kal-toh.
Here in Unimatrix Zero, our Ten Forward is also a social hub. It’s the place for all the exciting, nitty gritty Star Trek universe and fandom broadcasts. Well, okay not all, but at least the stuff that I’m aware of, and that interests me enough to write about.
One thing you can be sure of though, when you hang out in Ten Forward you’ll find a variety of different types of creative nonfiction articles to keep you entertained when you’re off duty.
News is one of the major features of this section of the column. Fairly regular news roundups will be posted here. Sometimes they might come monthly, sometimes biweekly, and sometimes even weekly. It really all depends how much Trek news is out there at any given time, and how big that news is. If you don’t have time to sift through all the various sites looking for the latest Trek hype, then Ten Forward’s news roundups will be a great resource for you.
Next on the menu is reviews. Ten Forward will feature reviews of new episodes from the various shows, new movies, books, comics, and video games. Don’t worry, we’ll be sure to start off our reviews with spoiler alerts. We definitely don’t want to ruin anyone’s evening.
The final feature of Ten Forward is interviews. When you come hang out here with us, there will be conversations with Trek fan fiction authors, artists, and fandom personalities. We also have big hopes of being able to bring you interviews with actors, writers, and other production crew members from the various shows and movies. What better way to hear (or read) Trek news than out of the mouths of those who create the universe for us?
