Five years ago, the Korean Wave, especially K-pop, swept me away from the shores of mainstream pop culture. I learned to ride and enjoy it. As a fan, I love sitting atop the wave. As a student-critic, its unmistakable strength & power scares me. Riding the Wave is my attempt to further understand the wave that’s carried me onto new heights and depths, along with countless other K-fans across the world.
